Mosoriot Town is one of the fastest growing towns in Nandi County and expanding at an alarming rate raising concerns on the form, structure and grain of the town. The main objective of the investigation was to identify the type of subsurface condition and the geotechnical and engineering conditions and parameters of the prevailing ground materials in order to provide sound ground characterization and satisfaction required for the foundation design of the proposed structures.

Rapid urbanization in rural market centres has largely been unguided and has led to undesirable and created competition with the county rich agricultural land. The LP&LUPs will guide land use, enhance connectivity, manage growth and provision of services to the residents whilst maintaining a health urban-rural balance. It provides a framework of growth for the urban centres, move the towns towards a well-planned and functional systems.
